Basic layout is preserved: text in reading order (including multi-column pages), headings, bold and italic, simple tables as real Word tables, and embedded raster images. Complex layouts, vector drawings, equations and exact positioning are not reproduced, so expect to do some clean-up for design-heavy documents.
Yes. Pages that contain only an image are recognized with OCR in your browser before conversion, so the Word file contains editable text. OCR accuracy depends on scan quality, and recognized text does not keep bold or italic styling.
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser; the PDF and the resulting .docx never leave your device.
